3/17/2023 0 Comments Lizard skin sound control 2 gallonWorks great thus far with a 300 watt LG panel. I did install two (2) 6 volt aux batteries (solar powered), and that is my daily office power for daily use. Cool air conditioning is a tough equation with how to power a proper system but I'm not interested in loading up on a huge battery bank. I use my van outside during the week and then on weekends for biking & hiking so I needed to focus on heat gain & air movement first, then conditioning the remaining air at a later date. I have great air movement and I use it daily. In addition, Orton coached me to install floor vents to draw cool air from below, so I installed two vents, one in front and one in back, due to the future partition which will separate the front & rear sections of my interior (framework welded into position currently). I installed two (2) Maxxfans with one pushing air out and the other pulling air in. I believe the Lizard Skin is holding back 80% of the heat gain from getting inside the vehicle. My #1 goal is to keep heat out and move heat out when it gets inside. Since we can't hang rigid insulation on the outside and spraying Lizard Skin on the outside is lame, I went all in to spray the interior with Lizard Skin to knock down the heat gain and I'm pleased as I can be. I live and work as a construction project manager in SoCal so fighting heat is my issue here. I went with Eastwood Heat & Sound stick-on material (Dynamat copy) inside the front doors & slider to avoid mucking up window and door lock/latch mechanisms. I made a choice about 8 months ago to spray Lizard Skin into and onto every cavity, panel and nook from the roof down to the floor. I will post up some input on my Front Runner roof rack setup in a different post since it solves many Transit issues for solar panels and field/camping accessories like fuel, water, and gear storage. Thank you to both of them for pointing me in worthwhile directions and also to Hein for producing custom roof rack mounts second to none for my roof rack. I'm new to posting (picture issues on my end) but have been fortunate to private message Orton & Hein and I have benefited greatly on my build due to those two guys. Maybe we can solve the issue the second time around with 14,000 miles between the same issue over about a year. My Transit is sitting in my shop stuck in limp mode but local dealer is towing it tomorrow. I love the rig and don't regret my purchase despite having Diesel Exhaust Fluid issues twice now. I have a 2015 extended rear, hi roof diesel in construction for a mobile office on front and mountain bikes and work/hiking/biking/camping field gear in rear as needed. You can either apply a topcoat directly to the product, or you can sand the product down before applying your topcoat.New guy posting here. If applying both the Ceramic Insulation and the Sound Control, apply the Sound Control first, let dry, and then apply the Ceramic Insulation.īoth products can be topcoated as well. A one gallon pail will typically cover the floor of a mid-size car, or most of the cab of a regular cab truck. Since it’s water-based, clean up is simple – Just use soap and water.Ī one gallon pail covers approximately 22-25 square feet, and a two gallon pail covers approximately 46-50 square feet at. You can leave as-is, or spray a topcoat sealer (paint or clear coat) to make it easier to clean, and you’re done. Simply remove your old flooring, clean the floor area, and spray LizardSkin SC on the floor. Whether you’re sick of dealing with damp carpeting, or you just don’t want to go through the hassle of taking your seats out in order to install a new vinyl mat, LizardSkin SC can help. Lizard Skin Sound Control also makes a great replacement for the flooring in your truck or Jeep. In addition to the noise reduction qualities, it will also drastically reduce panel attenuation (vibration – smack the roof of your project car and you’ll hear it). It is non-toxic and Class A fire-rated, and can reduce noise by up to 15dB. Unlike sound control mats, LizardSkin SC provides an even, seamless coverage to whatever you are applying it to. Lizard Skin Sound Control is a one-part, water-based acrylic coating that can easily be sprayed onto the interior or exterior of your ride.
